Botox® is an injectable purified toxin that temporarily halts muscle activity that contributes to wrinkles and lines. Approved for use by the FDA, Botox® has hundreds of studies supporting its safety and efficacy.

The total cost of a neurotoxin treatment depends on how much of the product (units) is needed based on the areas to treat and your needs and preferences. The effects of Botox® typically last for 3-4 months, but this can vary depending on a number of factors, such as the area being treated, the amount of Botox® injected, and the individual's metabolism.

After receiving Botox® injections, it may take a few days to start noticing the effects, with maximum results typically appearing within 1-2 weeks. As the effects wear off, the treated muscles gradually regain their function, and the wrinkles or lines may become visible again.

It is important to note that Botox® injections are not a permanent solution for wrinkles or other conditions, and repeat treatments are necessary to maintain the results.

Botox® injections are generally considered to be relatively painless, as the needles used are very small and the procedure typically takes only a few minutes to perform. However, some people may experience mild discomfort or a slight burning or stinging sensation at the injection site.

If you’re sensitive, talk to your Ulala provider about whether they can use a topical numbing cream or ice prior to your injections.

Treatment does not require downtime, so you can go back to your daily routine right after the procedure.

Botox®, Dysport®, and Jeuveau® are all brand names for different types of botulinum toxin products used for cosmetic and medical purposes.

While all three products are similar in their mode of action, there are some differences in their formulations and the way they are used.

One difference between these products is their onset and duration of action. Dysport® has a quicker onset of action than Botox®, while Jeuveau® has a slightly slower onset. The duration of action of each product can also vary, with Dysport® and Jeuveau® generally lasting slightly longer than Botox®.

Additionally, each product may have different dosing recommendations and injection techniques, depending on the specific treatment area and desired results.

It is helpful to avoid blood thinning over-the-counter medications such as Aspirin, Motrin, and Aleve. Tylenol is OK to use. Please notify us if you are using prescription or non-prescription blood thinners so extra precaution can be taken to avoid bruising. If bruising occurs, it is most common around the eyes and can typically be covered using makeup. While we make every effort to avoid bruising, this may occur because the skin around the eyes is very thin and there are several small vessels in this area. Bruising is usually minimal and may take several days to resolve completely.

1. If this is your first time receiving a Botox® and/or Dysport® treatment at our office, a "Before" photo may be taken. Your treatment will take effect in anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks, but most commonly within 3-5 days.

2. We would like to follow up in 2 weeks to make sure both you and I are satisfied with the results! We appreciate your trust in us. At that time we may also take your “After” photo for your patient file. This photo will not be shared without your expressed written permission.

3. Immediately following your treatment, please do not lie down for 3 hours.

4. Avoid any massage or pressure to the area, as this may disrupt placement of the drug. If you would like to re-apply makeup, please do so gently over the treated area.

5. Refrain from heavy exercise for 24 hours.

6. Botox® and Dysport®, as well as our own patient experiences, report the average duration of results is approximately 3-4 months. It is important to maintain regular injection intervals to maintain an optimal aesthetic result and prevent returning to your original pre-treatment condition.
